The men of the Knights of Columbus Councils of Fr. McCafferty and St. John the Evangelist led the fourth annual Corpus Christi procession, combining the parishes of St. Ignatius and St. John the Evangelist in a three mile prayerful display of the Eucharist. About 100 parishioners and friends joined the march which started at St. Ignatius with a prayer service. Father Jon Dalin, Chaplin, carried the Monstrance from St. Ignatius under a canopy which Knights from both councils carried on a rotating basis. The Knights were led by Bruce Wright, Fr. McCafferty’s Deputy Grand Knight and Kurt Schanbacher, Grand Knight of St. John’s Council.
Several parishioners provided water stops along the route, including PGK Frank and Mary Fazzalore. St. John’s pastor, Msgr. Joseph Prior also carried the Monstrance. Thre Procession ended at St. John’s church with Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. After Benediction, refreshments were served at St. John’s. Many thanks to Marianne Kloc who helped to organize the procession, to Sir Knight Steve Sanelli who led the Knights 4th degree honor guard at both churches and to the approximately 20 Knights who attended the procession.
