The 2024 General Election is around the corner and that means there are several key dates for Californians to pay attention to this fall. Below are the important dates and deadlines voters should keep in mind ahead of Election Day on Nov. 5. This information is available through the California Secretary of State's Office. Oct. 7 - County election offices will begin mailing out ballots to registered voters by Oct. 7. Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at drop-off locations or at your county's election office. Oct. 8 - Ballot drop-off locations will open across the state.
