Cautionary Tale for the NDP government of Manitoba:The recent announcement by the NDP government to put more oversight on private nursing agencies, as one nurse puts it, is like, "digging into the rabbit hole deeper." "They can't even control and manage the publicly-funded healthcare system, and now going after nurses who wants to have a work-life balance and going after business owners who are making an honest living off a dysfunctional system, is absurd," the nurse continues. The Manitoba Nurses Union and the Canadian Federation of Nurses Union are the ineffective machines that are part of the problem and can not solve the shortages of nurses and the increasing violence- physical and psychological violence that nurses experience in the workplace, even before the proliferation of private agencies in Manitoba. If the Manitoba NDP government will go after these business owners to curtail their services to the public, the general public will suffer the consequences, as no nurses will stay in the province. The NDP can not even lay a finger and have oversight with CRNM and much worse with the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba as they are part of the problem. The NURSES will leave Manitoba in droves. As the nurse quipped, "It sucks to be in Manitoba." We can't agree more. MNU and CFNU likes to pull the string around, as they can do so, to compensate for their "powerlessness" during the previous government. And when the next pandemic rolls around? We've told you. Powerful new article in the #ANA's American Nurse:"[M]ore than 3,600 U.S. healthcare workers died during the first year of the pandemic—32% of them nurses (more than any other healthcare occupational group)" not to mention "the immense and unprecedented impact that the pandemic has had on nurses’ psychological and moral well-being...For example, throughout the pandemic, especially when resources became scarce, nurses were expected to bear greater risk by providing direct care to patients suspected or confirmed to be infected with the COVID-19 virus. Nurses account for the most known healthcare worker deaths in the United States (32%), compared to physicians (17%), healthcare support personnel (20%), and all other roles (<10%). The inequity in risk and burden of exposure by nurses has undermined trust and confidence among healthcare team members.""Although the public initially applauded the “heroism” and sacrifice of nurses, sentiment later shifted to anger and violence, reflecting a deep societal divide about individual autonomy and collective responsibility. Nevertheless, the public, and by extension healthcare leaders and organizations, assumes that nurses will continue to serve— regardless of the circ*mstances—believing that their commitment to patients will take precedence over their own welfare and that they will continue to fill the gaps in stressed or dysfunctional systems."

We’ve recently concluded a deep analysis of agency rates paid by public and private hospitals. We’ve also surveyed hundreds of agency nurses, with the aim of improving your shift fill rates. As a result, new pay rate tiers are now available to ensure you continue to have freedom and control of the rates you offer and ensure you get value with every engagement. Please remember that our fee margindecreases the higher the rate you choose for the nurse. All you need to do is select Great Rate for your on-demand nurse to improve your shift fill rates. We can create the best experience in the world through our technology, but if the price and consistency of work isn’t right, nurses will simply shop around to find a traditional nursing agency that pays them the highest rate, which will inevitably cost your facility the most.☎️ Contact our healthcare workforce expert Ellerie via advice@upaged.com🌐 Visit our website: https://lnkd.in/gf8YwhAx#nursingagency #hospitals #nswhospitals #nswhealth #sydneyhospital #qldhealth #qldhospitals #vichealth #melbournehospital #australiahealthcare #agedcare #lookingfornurses

Nurses in Hawaii are raising their voices to support mandatory staff-to-patient ratios and it's not just Hawaii. With most hospitals in the US operating in the red, the situation is dire. Low reimbursem*nt from CMS and staff salaries are the primary reasons hospitals are broke. The nurses union is pushing hospitals under.HHSC hospitals already lose hundreds of millions annually. Maui Memorial Hospital alone is losing over $10M. We must find a solution to support our hospitals and healthcare workers without bankrupting hospitals. Let's work together to find a way to ensure quality healthcare for all without costing others their jobs. #healthcarejobs #Nurses #Hospitals

Mount Sinai Health System has been fined $2 million for understaffing nurses, marking the eighth time arbitrators have ruled against the organization. The "fine does not fit the crime," according to reports. Healthcare organizations need to prioritize proper staffing to ensure quality care for patients. The costs of understaffing are far less than complying with the arbitrator ruling. #healthcare #staffing #nurses #patientcare #nurseburnout #clinicianburnout#patientsafety
